Choose journeys to compare
Open Past journeys and use the comparison controls to select drives. The comparison view presents the set’s totals and individual metrics alongside route and chart information where available. “Similar route” uses the recorded start and end positions and a configurable matching radius.
Two drives with nearby endpoints can still take different roads. Treat the grouping as a convenient starting point, then inspect the routes, distance and conditions before deciding that one trip was more efficient.
Read the totals correctly
The comparison includes total distance, time, energy drawn, regeneration and net energy. Overall consumption is total energy divided by total distance; it is not a simple average of the individual Wh/km figures. A longer journey should carry more weight than a short one.
The app only compares a metric where it was recorded. Missing readings are not silently set to zero. Some measurements have no inherently “better” direction: a longer distance is not automatically an improvement.
Open Usage stats
Usage statistics group saved journeys by day, week, month or year. Switch between available metrics and bar or line views to see the recorded pattern over time. The table below the chart gives the period totals. This is a summary of saved records, not a complete odometer history: deleted or unrecorded journeys are absent.
Make a fair comparison
- Choose genuinely similar routes and distances.
- Note weather, traffic, speed and cabin heating or cooling.
- Check that each journey has complete energy and distance data.
- Use the same tariff assumptions when comparing costs.
- Remember that a minimum-distance filter can remove short sessions from the saved set.
Use the comparison to ask a better question, such as why this week’s commute used more energy, rather than to prove a single driving setting is always best.
