Battery size and replacement packs
Leaf Pro includes the established 24, 30, 40 and 62 kWh pack choices. Detection is a starting point: a replacement battery, unusual VIN or imported vehicle can need a manual correction. The chosen size affects derived estimates, so verify it before relying on capacity or range calculations. See model and battery-pack settings.
Why some readings are missing
The battery controller, vehicle-control module and meter do not expose identical responses across generations. In the recorded replies used by this project, the 2012 car did not answer the later vehicle-control requests; the 2013 and 2015 cars answered those but not the later meter requests. That is why a blank tyre-pressure tile on an older car does not, by itself, establish a broken sensor.
Temperature sensor count also differs: the early family uses four sensor positions, later supported families three. A missing fourth sensor on a later car is expected. Inverter torque is better evidenced on ZE1 than older models, so it should not be promised universally.
iOS and Android
iPhone uses BLE or Wi-Fi adapters. Android also supports Bluetooth Classic. Background recording and reconnect behaviour depend on OS permissions, battery restrictions and the adapter. No phone platform guarantees uninterrupted background polling. Read the background and permissions guide.
Detection and manual override
Leaf Pro uses the VIN and battery replies to identify the model family. Where those are inconclusive, it probes the available requests. You can override the model under Settings → Car → Model. Do so because you know the car, rather than to try to make unavailable features appear.
