leafMissing does not mean zero
A dash or “No reading” means the app does not have a usable value. It may be unsupported on that model, not supplied in the current car state, or absent from the latest reply. Do not interpret a blank charge counter as zero charges or a missing tyre reading as zero pressure.
Stale means previously received
If the adapter drops or the vehicle stops delivering data, the app can keep the last value visible with a stale indicator. That number belongs to an earlier time. Check the connection pill and whether readings are changing before treating a screenshot as current.
Check the vehicle’s capabilities
Open the Not available information under Settings and compare your model with the compatibility page. Earlier cars have a smaller set of implemented live requests. A three-sensor temperature layout on a later car is expected, not a missing fourth sensor.
If the number is surprising
- Confirm the units and whether the value is reported or estimated.
- Check the detected model and selected battery pack.
- Distinguish SOC from SOH and battery power from motor power.
- Review the car state: parked, READY, charging, cold or under load.
- Look at a trend or recorded journey rather than one rapidly changing sample.
Developer source labels can identify the ECU behind a figure. Include that label in a report if available. Avoid clearing faults, disconnecting batteries or changing safety-related settings just to make a number look normal.
If the car itself warns you
Follow the vehicle’s warning instructions and obtain qualified help. A phone connection and apparently normal app values do not overrule a warning from the vehicle or guarantee it is safe to continue driving.
