What a polling cycle does
Leaf Pro repeatedly asks the adapter for vehicle data. The core sequence reads pack information and nearby motor figures, then less frequent bulk battery groups and other live data. Requests and replies take time; the phone cannot make a slow adapter deliver all signals simultaneously.
Choose the intervals
Settings → Polling separates the general poll pause, bulk cell poll rate and journey log target. The minimum general pause is 200 ms, and bulk cell reads have a minimum 2-second interval. A 200 ms setting does not mean the full vehicle updates five times every second; it is added around a cycle whose own duration still matters.
Cell polling during journeys
Journey settings have a separate switch and interval for cell polling. Reading 96 cell voltages, temperatures and balance data adds work to the cycle. Turning those bulk reads off during an ordinary journey can leave more time for fast changing driving figures, but the missing cell samples cannot be recreated later.
Full Assessment uses its own recording request and restores the previous setting afterward. If you want meaningful cell analysis, choose a recording configuration that actually captures the cells.
Choose a useful rate, not just the fastest number
Start with defaults. If the connection is unreliable, confirm adapter quality, radio conditions and car support before reducing every interval. Faster polling can increase phone power use, adapter traffic and the amount of data written. A stable complete recording is usually more useful than a nominally fast one with gaps.
Why two readings can disagree briefly
Pack current, motor torque and speed are requested in sequence. Under a changing pedal, values from slightly different moments can disagree. Compare a longer trend and the source of each figure before concluding that a conversion is wrong. The diagnostic console can help support investigate a repeatable issue.
