The Journey card is on the Drive tab. Start a manual recording while parked, or enable Auto record to start and stop with the car. The current app defaults Auto record on. Review Settings → Journey logging if you only want manually chosen sessions.
A usable connection and vehicle power-state information are important for automatic start and stop. A phone permission or missing car signal can limit the behaviour. Begin with a short test and review it before depending on automatic logging for a longer trip.
What a journey contains
The recorder saves available battery and driving readings over time. Summaries include distance, duration, energy drawn, regeneration, net energy and consumption where the necessary inputs exist. GPS adds route and location-assisted distance; barometer and GNSS can contribute elevation. Missing inputs remain missing.
Review recording settings
- Journey log interval is a target; a slow polling cycle sets the actual floor.
- GPS logging controls whether location is requested for the journey.
- Background recording and Auto record have additional permission requirements.
- Cell polling can be enabled and given its own interval during a journey.
- Minimum distance filters out very short sessions. The current default is 1 km or 1 mile in the selected unit.
A short “test drive” around a driveway may therefore disappear intentionally when stopped. Lower the minimum-distance preference before such a test if you want to retain it.
Stop and review
End a manual recording when parked, or let Auto record respond to the car powering off or going silent. Open Past journeys from the Journey card to review saved drives. The app keeps recording data in local files and can recover interrupted sessions, but exporting important records is still sensible before reinstalling or replacing a phone.
Explore a saved drive
Open a journey for its route, linked charts and summary. Compare it with another drive or use the share action for a visual card. For permissions and gaps, see background recording and journey troubleshooting.
