leafJoin the adapter network first
Wi-Fi adapters normally create their own local network. Open the phone’s Wi-Fi settings and join that network using the adapter maker’s instructions. It is normal for the phone to warn that this network has no internet; the adapter is a local connection to the vehicle.
Enter the address and port
Open Leaf Pro’s Adapter page and use the Wi-Fi connection. The common default is 192.168.0.10:35000, but a different adapter may use a different address or port. Copy the values from its manual. An IP address from an unrelated dongle is not a reliable default for yours.
- Join the correct Wi-Fi network.
- Keep the car and adapter powered while parked.
- Enter the TCP address and port in Leaf Pro.
- On iPhone, allow Local Network access when asked.
- Connect and wait for changing vehicle values.
Why maps or purchases might stop working
A working adapter connection does not mean your phone has internet access. Route tiles, support messages, store purchases and terrain lookup require online services. You can have live battery readings while those services are unavailable. If necessary, finish the vehicle session, return to an internet connection and open the saved journey later.
Android routing and background behaviour
Leaf Pro binds its adapter connection to the joined Wi-Fi network on Android so mobile-data routing does not send the socket to the wrong network. That helps connection setup; it does not make a Wi-Fi adapter into an internet gateway or guarantee that the OS keeps a background socket alive.
When the connection fails
Check the network name, local-network permission, exact IP and port, and whether another app already holds the adapter. A VPN or security application can also interfere with local traffic. Change one thing at a time and record the error if you need support. Do not reset unrelated phone or server settings to fix an adapter connection.
